The team has been hard at work progressing on our project. This past week and a half we’ve had 3 different shoots, one of them being at the Savannah Film Studios backlot. Besides the shoot, I’ve pretty much finalized the rig to the point where I can start working more on the animation and other things.
I’ve been experimenting a lot with photoscanning, and took many at the film backlot, some usable most not usable. We are going in the direction of building the environment in Houdini, with a mix of photoscanned assets and modeled assets, along with a digital matte painting for shots 2 and 3.
I’ve also been responsible for rendering and setting up the environments, here are some renders I’ve done since the last post. I am also currently working on creating the environments for shots 2 and 3.
I’ve also been working on getting the tracked footage camera into Houdini. Initially I had some issues getting the scale right, but after some time I found a good solution. Here is a flipbook of some tracked camera footage for shot 04 and one of the photoscans from the film lot.
